Hello my friend,

I have been thinking a lot about TRUST this week as we have walked through another death in the family. Grief. Change. Loss.

But that's NOT the story for today...

I am reading a book about TRUST so it led me to thinking about various trust relationships:

• My marriage and the trust we have
• Clients that trust me with their deepest secrets, business numbers, family situations as a mentor, guide, advisor and confidante.
• The trust I have in my faith and a power greater than myself.
• The trust that I have a safe place to vent, ask, cry, ponder, become something new. This happens for me in counseling, coaching groups, telegram chats, voxer channels, 12 step rooms and at home.
• Trusting myself and my own journey.

Without these things, I have can slip into depression, despair, anxiety, in-action. I had to learn a long time ago how to meander my way out because I was clinically depressed in high school and then in my 20's. I went to counseling, which is what led me to eventually get my Masters Degree in Counseling. I was committed to my healing. To learning to trust myself.

But this involved work and creating new habits.

Then plot twist, I slipped into alcoholism "one drink at a time" during my 30's. Now I am happily sober 11 years.

How? I took action. I went to AA. I got a sponsor and did what she suggested. I worked the steps. Repeat.

I trusted the process. I trusted all those who had walked the journey before me.
